About M'kepi

M’kepi Game Lodge is a beautiful hunting and wildlife conservancy nestled between the mountains of the magnificent Waterberg region in Limpopo, South Africa.

Situated near the town of Thabazimbi, we are only a three hour drive from Johannesburg (2 ½ hours from Pretoria) – close enough for a weekend break.

At M’kepi, you will experience the African bushveld at it’s best and have the opportunity to engage in ethical and sustainable hunting, wildlife-viewing, and birding.

Our huge variety of game include all common game, rare species, and three of the Big 5.

For birders, the prolific birdlife of the bush will keep you busy identifying the over 350 bird species that are prevalent in this region.

Tree-lovers will appreciate the 176 different trees that are found in this area.

Getting to M'kepi

M’kepi Game lodge is a short three hour drive from Johannesburg (2 ½ hours from Pretoria) and is very close to the town of Thabazimbi in Limpopo province. You can come via Brits or via Bela Bela, which is a slightly longer route but a better road.

Most of the road is tarred and of good quality. The final part of your journey is on a dirt road which often has corrugations but can be navigated by a small car. 4-Wheel drive is not necessary.

We have a landing strip for small planes (coordinates on request) and a hangar for helicopters if you’d prefer to fly in.
